Bliss

Breakfast in bed with two gorgeous people. This was my life?

I ate my toast, not quite believing it and thinking about the previous night, along with the sweet cleaning up and reassurance afterwards.

“You okay?” Tino asked, sipping their coffee, nude and lounging back half under the covers.

“I think I’m still in shock.”

Kit laughed and kissed my temple. He’d put his underwear back on and nothing else. “I think you two should date.”

Both Tino and I looked at Kit.

“Well, I’ve known you both individually, and I think you two should bond as well, and we should then date altogether.”

Tino nudged me. “We should. How about a daytime date today?”

I finished my toast, thinking about what I wanted to say. “I’d like that. We should also discuss the boundaries of what we do apart and together. I think you two should go fuck on your own, as I think Tino and I should, and still bond as the three of us.”

Kit set his mug aside and shifted to both of us. “If we do that, then we need to check in with each other regularly. No one should feel left out or vulnerable. And if one of us does, then we need to address it and unpack why. If the point of doing this is to feel love between the three of us, then it needs to be absolutely direct. No miscommunication. No hiding our hurt and no dismissal of it.”

Tino sighed. “This was the issue with my last boyfriend. I want group inclusion, and he wanted it to be separate. He made me feel like shit for feeling unwanted and unloved.”

I loved that we were all on the same page. The gnawing insecurity that plagued me was bound to rear its head at some point. “Fair. I’m not jealous per se, but I often feel pushed out because that’s my experience of relationships of any kind.”

Tino kissed my shoulder.

“Good.” Kit nodded in a quick, firm affirmation. “This is going to work. I need to get to the shop.” He leant over and kissed me hard but briefly and hovered close, cupping my jaw. “You’re incredible.” He clambered over and straddled Tino. “You’re divine.” Kit kissed them. With a grunt of annoyance, he got off the bed, pulling his clothes on, and sighed with a lingering look as he left.

We deflated in the silence, which strung out.

“Are we weird? This is weird, right?” I asked.

They rolled their head against the headboard. “Yeah. It was good, though.”

“It was more than good. I can still feel all that dick in me.”

“I’m not at work today. What are your plans?”

“Um. Physio at two and one client at five.”

“We hanging out?”

“I’d love to.”

Tino cleaned up the breakfast things, and we showered together. Shy and hesitant, I stood under the cascading water. They watched for a minute, eyes sliding down my body and joined me.

“The thing I remember most about you at college was your laugh and hair.”

I grinned, and when I tried to wash my hair, they took over, carefully massaging my scalp, keeping the foam from my eyes.
